Complete this task to install the OpenStorage plug-in on
Windows.
Procedure
- From the IBM System Storage ProtecTIER OpenStorage plug-in CD,
copy and extract the IBM_OSTP_V3.3.0.tar file.
- Access and launch the Windows plug-in installer
by double-clicking the executable file (for example: IBM_ProtecTIER_OST_plugin_3.3.xxx_win32.exe or IBM_ProtecTIER_OST_plugin_3.3.xxx_win64.exe where xxx is
the package number). InstallAnywhere guides you through the
installation of the IBM ProtecTIER OST plug-in for 32 or 64 bit.
- Quit all programs and stop the NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service before proceeding
with the installation.
- To stop the NetBackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service,
go to .
- In the Services window, services
are listed in alphabetical order by name.
- Locate the name, NetBackup Remote Manager, and Monitor Service. Its Status field shows the state of the
service.
- Select the service and right-click.
- The menu that displays has options to Stop, Start,
or Restart the service. Select Stop.
- Return to the InstallAnywhere window and click Next.
- Review the Pre-Installation Summary and
click Install to run the installation procedure.
- When the installation is complete, you are prompted to
start the Netbackup Remote Manager and Monitor Service. Select Start
service and click Next.
- The OpenStorage plug-in
installation is complete. Press Done to exit
the installer.
- To verify that the plug-in was installed correctly,
type the command: \PROGRAM FILES\VERIITAS\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bpstsinfo.exe
-pi and press <enter>. If the plug-in
was installed correctly, the output will be similar to the following:
