Enabling host blocking for services

Host blocking for services is enabled through the cluster management console.

Procedure

  1. From the cluster management console Dashboard, select Workload > Symphony > Application Profiles.

    The Applications page displays.

  2. Click the application you want to modify.

    The Application Profile page displays.

  3. Select Advanced Configuration.
  4. Select the check box for Enable service level block host.
  5. Optionally, select the check box for Unblock promoted service level block host automatically.
    In some situations, the SSM will promote a service-level blocked host to an application-level blocked host, blocking this application from getting the resource again. If a new session is submitted with a different service type that did not block the host, you can configure Unblock promoted service level block host automatically to unblock the host at the application level and get it back automatically.
  6. Click Save to apply your changes.

    The configuration changes are applied. If the application was already running, it is restarted for the configuration changes to take effect.
