License log file entries
Use this description of license log file entries to help you interpret events and problems.
lmgrd.log,
lmgrd.log.back, and ibmratl_timestamp.log) and
option files (such as ibmratl.opt) are the source of data for the reporting tool.
Do not delete or modify these files. Doing so results in license usage reporting inaccuracies. For
more information, see technical document http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21671165.| Sample log file | Description |

13:51:01 (telelogic) TCP_NODELAY NOT enabled |
When a FlexNet licensing
session is established, TCP/IP sends data between the server and client by using packets. By
default, the TCP/IP processing kernel delays small packet transmissions to gain an efficiency
advantage. The advantage occurs by using a buffer to coalesce many small packets before they are
sent across the network. The delays can result in artificially high latency times for the small
packets that are related to most FlexNet licensing
operations. Set the TCP_NODELAY system setting (as a FlexNet license server environment variable) to overcome the delay behavior and to reduce the licensing wait period. Using this setting causes data packets to be sent through the network more frequently. As a result, there is less of a delay in the licensing process due to TCP/IP operations. However, network traffic can increase as a result of smaller and more frequent licensing-related packet transmissions. |
Where token-based licenses are
used:14:46:39 (telelogic) DENIED:DOORSindkach@indkach [telelogic] (Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342:10054 )) 14:46:39 (telelogic) DENIED:DOORSindkach@indkach [telelogic] (Licensed number of users already reached. (-4,342:10054 )) 14:46:39 (telelogic) OUT:TLSTOK-tokenindkach@indkach [DOORS] (3 licenses) |
For a token-based DOORS license, the normal log is as follows:log is: 14:46:39 (telelogic) OUT:DOORSindkach@indkach [telelogic] 14:46:39 (telelogic) IN:DOORSindkach@indkach [telelogic] 14:46:39 (telelogic) OUT:TLSTOK-tokenindkach@indkach [DOORS] (3 licenses) If the DOORS license is already checked out, the lines after DENIED are included. However, the tokens are still checked out and the license is granted. This issue occurs when two users try to check out a license at the same time or if the license is kept by an older version of DOORS. The older version of DOORS did not support token-based licenses. |
14:16:17 (telelogic) Multiple dup-groupings in effect for DOORS: 14:16:17 (telelogic) NONE vs. USER HOST DISPLAY 14:16:17 (telelogic) No further warnings about this |
