You must ensure that you are licensed for the number of actual or virtual processor cores
that you use.
About this task
IBM®
Streams uses Virtual Processor Cores (VPCs) to measure license usage. The VPCs are based on the number of
CPU cores that are running applications in production. Management services do not require VPC
licenses.
Procedure
Use the following procedure to determine license usage.
-
Run the streamtool lsappcpu command to determine the number of CPU cores
that are available to the application resources.
Example
output:
Resource CPU
app-10 2.0
app-11 2.0
app-9 2.0
Total Application CPU: 6
-
Download the Value Unit Converter Excel file from this FTP site.
-
In the second tab of the Excel file, enter the total number of CPU cores.
Complete instructions for calculating the license usage are in the first tab of the Excel
file.
