The DSCIMCLI utility is used to configure the CIM agent
that is running on a DS8000® HMC.
You can install and configure the DSCIMCLI utility on various operating
systems.
About this task
The DSCIMCLI can run on the same platforms that the proxy
CIM agent runs on, but does not use nearly as much memory as the full
CIM agent installation.
The DSCIMCLI can be installed
on the following operating systems:
- The supported platforms for 5.4.1 and later versions of the DSCIMCLI
utility include Microsoft Windows 2008, Windows 2003, and SLES 10.
- The supported platforms for 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4 versions of the
CIM agent include Microsoft Windows 2003, RedHat Advanced
Server 3.0, SLES 9, and AIX® 5.3.
- The supported platforms for the 5.1.0 version of the CIM agent
include Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows 2003, RedHat Advanced Server 3.0, AIX 5.1, AIX 5.2, and AIX 5.3.
- RHEL3 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
(For DS8000 release 4.0 or
earlier only)
To
configure and manage a CIM agent that is running on a DS8000 HMC, you must download, install, and
configure the DSCIMCLI utility on a remote server.
