Planning tasks for the ESS
Tasks are a set of actions to be executed on an ESS. They allow you to automate a series of steps that otherwise would be performed through the ESS Copy Services Web Interface.
In a direct management environment, PowerHA® SystemMirror® Enterprise Edition for Metro Mirror relies on PPRC tasks for managing PPRC volume pairs and the associated PPRC paths. These tasks are used to establish and terminate PPRC pairs during fallover and fallback of volumes. To access these tasks, nodes in an PowerHA SystemMirror cluster that supports PowerHA SystemMirror Enterprise Edition for Metro Mirror require access to ESSNet to execute commands.
