Tuning the ECM gateway

The Web communication for the ECM system was performed via an IBM® HTTP Server (IHS) running in a single virtual machine.

For example, IHS received requests from either:
  • custom applications
  • users interacting directly with the IBM Content Navigator (ICN) user interface.

Components of ICN were mapped to IHS which then managed the HTTP traffic for the ICN application.
