The Sun Web Server requires special configurations. Perform the
following steps:
- Make sure that you have the Windows SNMP
agent installed and configured before you install the Sun Java™ System Web Severs. For details, see ″Installing
and Configuring the SNMP Service" in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc750391.aspx.
- Configure the community name for SNMP, click Start > Control
Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > SNMP
Service, the SNMP Service Properties window opens. Click
the Security tab, and click Add under the Accepted
Community Name box. Enter public in the Community name field
. Restart SNMP Service.
- Install the Sun Web Server.
- Enable SNMP monitoring for each server by clicking server > manage > SNMP
Subagent Configuration. Specify the needed information. Select on for
the Enable SNMP Statistics Collection field, then click OK and

- Restart SNMP service.
- Start/restart configured servers from Sun Web Server web admin
console.
