The SMP cables that connect the system nodes are plugged incorrectly, broken, or are not the correct type of cable for this system configuration.
For a 5148-21L, 5148-22L, 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8247-42L, 8284-21A, 8284-22A, 8286-41A, 8286-42A, 8408-44E, or 8408-E8E, this isolation procedure is not supported. Continue with the next failing item in the failing item list.
For a 9080-MHE, 9080-MME,
9119-MHE, or 9119-MME, complete the following steps:
- Is the reference code B1504909 or B1504922?
- Yes: Go to step 4.
- No: Continue with the next step.
- Use the Exchange FRU procedure on the Hardware Management Console (HMC) to reseat the SMP cables that are listed in the failing item list of this reference code in the serviceable event view. Do not replace the SMP cables during this procedure. For information about cabling the system, see Cabling for 9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9119-MHE, or 9119-MME.
- After you reseat the cables, validate the cable status of the SMP cables again. For
instructions, see Validating cables in 9080-MHE, 9080-MME,
9119-MHE, or 9119-MME. Do the SMP cables have a status
of OK?
- Yes: This ends the procedure.
- No: Continue with the next step.
- Use the Exchange FRU procedure on the HMC to replace the SMP cables that are listed in the failing item list of this reference code in the serviceable event view. For information about cabling the system, see Cabling for 9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9119-MHE, or 9119-MME.
- After you replace the cables, validate the cable status of the SMP cables again. For
instructions, see Validating cables in 9080-MHE, 9080-MME,
9119-MHE, or 9119-MME. Do the SMP cables have a status
of OK?
- Yes: This ends the procedure.
- No: Continue with the next step.
- Use the Exchange FRU procedure on the HMC to replace the remaining failing items in the failing item list one at a time. If the problem persists, contact your next level of support. This ends the procedure.
