Establishing a Protected Conversation

A protected conversation allows your distributed application to take advantage of the z/VM® data integrity facility, Coordinated Resource Recovery (CRR). CRR provides services to coordinate updates to two or more resources. See Your Applications and Data Integrity for more details. Protected conversations extend this protection to resources on remote systems so that the commit or rollback of all changes for all conversation partners in a logical unit of work can be coordinated. Setting a conversation's sync_level characteristic to CM_SYNC_POINT before allocation indicates to CPI Communications that you want a protected conversation. See the Common Programming Interface Communications Reference for more details on setting up and using protected conversations.
