UNDIAL
Authorization
Privilege Class: Any
Purpose
Use UNDIAL to logically disconnect your terminal from a z/VM® guest system and return control of that terminal to the host z/VM system.
Usage Notes
- If UNDIAL is issued from a terminal that is being controlled by a host z/VM system, an error message will be issued.
- UNDIAL can be issued only from a terminal that is not logged on. That is, UNDIAL can be issued before the LOGON command or after the LOGOFF or DISCONNECT commands.
- UNDIAL cannot be used if the terminal is connected to a VTAM® service machine (VSM) running in the guest system. If this is the case, the connection to the VSM must be terminated before the CP UNDIAL command can be used.
- When UNDIAL is issued from a terminal that is dialed to the guest VM system as a logical terminal or a non-SNA TTY terminal and is not logged on, UNDIAL has the same effect as the LOGOFF command.
