Preparing to Use the AVS Virtual Machine

This chapter describes the following steps, which you must perform before using AVS:

• Define the AVS virtual machine to GCS
• Set up the AVS virtual machine and install AVS
• Prepare the AVS message repository (optional)
• Define the AVS virtual machine to VTAM®
• Adjust the tuning parameters to improve performance (optional)
• Prepare the accounting module (optional)
• Set up the AVS virtual machine profiles
• Assure secure TSAF collection-to-SNA network communications
• Enable the AVS virtual machine to be autologged
• Set up the system to centralize operations.
