Listing Your Files with the LISTFILE Command

You can use the LISTFILE command to list information about your CMS files. For example, entering:
listfile
displays the file name, file type, and file mode of all files on your A disk in the following format:
ALL      NOTEBOOK A0
ANIMAL   DATA     A1
BANANA   DATA     A1
BEAR     NOTE     A1
HONEY    DATA     A1
TIGER    NOTE     A1
ZOOKEEP  NETDATA  A1
For SFS, the LISTFILE command has various options that allow you to display different information about your files and directories. An example is the SHARE option. When you enter:
listfile (share
Your output will be similar to this:
FILENAME FILETYPE FM OWNER    TYPE    R W
ALL      NOTEBOOK A0 yourid   BASE    X X
ANIMAL   DATA     A1 CROCKETT BASE    X X
BANANA   DATA     A1 BREEZY   ALIAS   X X
BEAR     NOTE     A1 BREEZY   ALIAS   X -
HONEY    DATA     A1 STONE    ALIAS   X -

In addition to the file name, file type, and file mode, this display shows you the owner of the file, whether your file is a base file or an alias, and what type of authority you have to the file (read or write). For more information on these terms, see Using the Shared File System.
