Selecting Files from a List

Another way to send many files at once is to select the files from a list of some or all of your files. You would probably choose this method if you wanted to send only some, but not all, files with the same file name or file type. Or perhaps you would like to browse through a list before deciding which files to send.

First enter the SENDFILE command to display a sendfile screen.
                  ---------------- SENDFILE ---------------

File(s) to be sent (use * for Filename, Filetype and Filemode
to select from a list of files)
Enter filename : *
      filetype : data
      filemode :

Send files to : sleepy_

Type over 1 for YES or 0 for NO to change the options:

0 Request acknowledgement when the file has been received?

1 Make a log entry when the file has been sent?

1 Display the file name when the file has been sent?

0 This file is actually a list of files to be sent?

On the sendfile screen, you type an asterisk (*) next to the file name, file type, or file mode fields, as shown here. An asterisk in any of these fields means that you want the list to contain all files with a certain file name, file type, or file mode. Of course, if you wanted the list to contain all files on file mode A, you would type an asterisk for file name and file type.

In the previous screen, an asterisk is typed in the file name field and data is typed in the file type field. This means that the list will contain all files on Snow White's file mode A with a file type of DATA. To display the list, first finish filling out the sendfile menu, and then press PF5.

To mark the files you want sent, type the letter s before the file name of each file you want sent. Then press Enter to send the files. In this example, three files would be sent to Sleepy (the recipient specified on the sendfile screen). They are the files marked with an s. When the files are sent, an asterisk (*) appears in the Cmd space next to each file sent.

If your FILELIST display extends for more than one screen and you also want to send some of these files, first scroll the screen (using PF8). Then type an s next to the files you want to send and press Enter.

When you are finished sending files, press PF3 to exit from FILELIST (and sendfile) screens.
