rdev1-rdev2
specifies a real device number, a list of real device numbers, or a range of real device numbers.
REKEY keyalias1
REKEY keyalias2
reencrypts a tape has was already encrypted using different key information so that you do not need to rewrite the tape. At least one keyalias must be specified.

Usage Notes

  1. The range of devices that are specified on a single CP SET TAPE command cannot span more than 256 real device numbers.
  2. The REKEY function is only valid when issued against 3592 tape drives that support hardware encryption and rekeying, and when the mounted tape cartridge is encrypted and positioned at the beginning of the tape (BOT). This will take a few moments to complete as it performs the necessary key exchanges between the control unit and the key manager.
