QUERY VCONFIG

Read syntax diagramSkip visual syntax diagram Query VCONFIG

Authorization

Privilege Class: G

Purpose

Use QUERY VCONFIG to display the virtual configuration mode for a virtual machine.

Usage Notes

  1. The SET VCONFIG command can be issued to change the virtual configuration mode for the virtual machine.

Responses

Response 1:

MODE = m
where:
m
identifies the configuration mode and is set to one of the following:
  • ESA390
  • GENERAL
  • LINUX
  • VM

VCONFIG modes ESA390 and GENERAL are functionally equivalent, which means that the same virtual CPU types can be defined in an ESA390 mode virtual machine and in a GENERAL mode virtual machine. For the SET VCONFIG command, ESA390 and GENERAL are synonyms and cause a configuration of the same capabilities to be defined when specified. The QUERY VCONFIG command will display ESA390 when MACHINE is set to XA, ESA, or XC, and will display GENERAL when MACHINE is set to Z.
