QUERY IO_OPT
Authorization
Privilege Class: B, G
Purpose
Use QUERY IO_OPT to determine the current status of all I/O options for a virtual machine. The setting for I/O options are controlled by the SET IO_OPT command.
Operands
- USER userid
- *
- specifies an individual user for which the I/O options status is to be reported.
An asterisk (*), which is the default, specifies the virtual machine (user ID) from which the command is issued.
If QUERY IO_OPT is executed with the AT command, userid operand is required.
Usage Notes
- When the setting for all users is OFF, that virtual machine I/O option is disabled for all
virtual machines, including any new users that may logon, regardless of the individual
setting.
When the setting for all users is ON, then the individual user setting determines whether I/O options are enabled or disabled for the requested user ID.
- The default setting for the UID I/O option is to be set ON for all users and each virtual machine. When this option is ON for a virtual machine, two real PCI functions with the same UID value cannot be attached to the same virtual machine.
- The default setting for the ENFORCE_BY_VOLID I/O option is determined by the ENFORCE_BY_VOLid configuration statement. When this option is ON, CP enforces attachment of DASD devices by their VOLIDs.
