Sending One File
To send one file, follow these steps:
- Type the file name in the space provided.
- Type the file type in the space provided.
- Type the file mode if it is not A. You can leave this field blank if the file is on file mode A (the directory or minidisk accessed with a file mode of A). If the file is on a different file mode, you must specify that file mode letter, or the file will not be found.
- Type the name(s) of the recipient(s). You can use nicknames from
your names file. The
nickname can represent a single user.
For example:
Send files to: snoozy
Or you can type more than one name on this line. (Do not separate the names with commas.) For example:Send files to: snoozy grouchy prince
The nickname can also represent a list. The file is sent to each person in the list. For example:Send files to: dwarfs
If the recipient uses the same computer system that you use, you can type the user ID. If the recipient uses a computer system connected to yours, you can type the user ID and node.
- Choose the 0/1 options.
You can select certain options from the list on the screen. They are described in the following section.
- Press PF5 to send the file and exit from the sendfile screen. Pressing Enter sends the file but keeps the screen (so that you can use it to send another file).
