How Much Minidisk Space Have I Used?

Minidisks are identified by letters, known as file modes. The file mode that you usually use when you create a file is A. That means that your file is put on the minidisk accessed with a file mode of A. How can you find out how much minidisk space is left? With this command:
Query DISK A

The response is a message similar to this:

LABEL VDEV M STAT CYL TYPE BLKSIZE FILES BLKS USED-(%) BLKS LEFT BLK TOTAL
DAB191 191 A R/W 5 3390 4096 180 2473-61 1577 4050

The minidisk label is DAB191. The address of the minidisk (where the minidisk is) is 191. The file mode letter is A. R/W means that you can read and write on this minidisk. Some minidisks are R/O, which means read only. That is, you cannot write a file on them. The fields labeled CYL, TYPE, and BLKSIZE give information about the amount of space on this particular minidisk and how that space is organized. FILES tells you how many files you have on the minidisk. BLKS USED shows the percentage of the space you have used. Here, you see that 43% of this minidisk is used. Therefore, 57% of this minidisk is still available. The rest of the fields are not important to you now.
