Purpose

Use QUERY PAV to display the following:
  • A list of all Parallel Access Volume (PAV) DASD and HyperParallel Access Volume (HyperPAV) DASD. This includes each PAV base device and its associated PAV alias devices, each HyperPAV base device, and each HyperPAV alias device.
  • The PAV and/or HyperPAV information for one or more real devices. This includes all base and alias information that is associated with the specified device or devices.

Operands

ALL
tells CP to display a list of all PAV and HyperPAV devices.
rdev
rdev1-rdev2
is the real device address of the device for which you want PAV or HyperPAV information. You can specify a single device address, a range of device addresses, or any combination.

If you enter QUERY PAV rdev for a PAV alias device, you see a response like this:

If you enter QUERY PAV rdev for a HyperPAV alias device, you see a response like this:
