Eclipse Installer only: Setting the version range

If your organization chooses to install TPF Toolkit by using the Eclipse Installer, you must set the version range in the TPF Toolkit product catalog. Ignore this topic if you install TPF Toolkit from a product archive file.

Procedure

  1. Open your administrator instance of TPF Toolkit.
  2. In the Project Explorer view, expand com.ibm.tpf.toolkit.eclipse.installer.
  3. Right-click com.ibm.tpf.toolkit.products.setup, and click Open With > Setup Editor.
The com.ibm.tpf.toolkit.products.setup file is displayed in the editor view.
  4. In the editor view, expand TPF Toolkit Products > TPF Toolkit > Toolkit 4.6 > P2 Directory (TPF Toolkit 4.6), and double-click com.ibm.tpf.toolkit.product.
  5. In the Properties view, set the Version Range value to be the version number of the current fix pack, for example, 4.6.2.
  6. In the editor view, expand TPF Toolkit Products > TPF Toolkit > P2 Director (Oomph Setup UI).
  7. If the first child node is org.eclipse.oomph.setup.ui, double-click the child node, and in the Properties view, change the value to org.eclipse.oomph.setup.feature.group.
  8. Save the changes.
  9. Copy the com.ibm.tpf.toolkit.products.setup file to the internal host to overwrite the existing file.

Results

The next time your users start TPF Toolkit, the updates are automatically installed, or your users are prompted to install the updates, depending on the automatic update options that you configured.
