Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool

The Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT) is a no-charge IBM® tool that reports required license capacity for subcapacity-eligible products running on z/OS® or z/OS.e systems. The SCRT analyzes one month of data for IBM Z® environments, and produces a subcapacity report. This report indicates the required license capacity in millions of service units (MSU) of each subcapacity-eligible product running on z/OS and z/OS.e. Subcapacity-eligible products are charged based on the rolling four-hour average utilization of the LPARs in which the subcapacity products run. The z/TPF system is eligible for Workload License Charges (WLC); that is, the z/TPF system collects subcapacity data, which is used by the SCRT to generate subcapacity reports. These reports are sent by e-mail to IBM to indicate the required license capacity for the z/TPF system.

For more information about the SCRT, including how to use the tool and where to send the subcapacity reports, see IBM Z software pricing tools.
