Checking the health of your environment
IBM Service Management Unite 1.1.11 provides easy checks to help you manage the overall health of your z/OS environment.
Using IBM Service Management Unite 1.1.11, system operators can view the health status of z/OS components, and monitoring and automation exception events, from a single location. This capability helps you quickly identify problems with critical components, leading to faster problem resolution and decreased service time.
Notification and resolution of common system health issues are
facilitated by Service Management Unite:
- Problem identification with acknowledged ownership
- Operators can achieve the following efficiencies: 1) View alerts and events across your monitoring and automation environments; 2) Identify which events have been acknowledged by another user, and; 3) Determine the ID of each operator who is assigned to an acknowledged event, all contributing to a decrease in problem resolution time.
- Problem isolation with enhanced visualization:
- From a single location, operators can identify the systems that have exceeded defined performance thresholds, helping to maximize service efficiency.
- Safe restoration of service:
- From a centralized console, operators are warned before performing any system action that could cause a significant change to the environment, and are required to verify any potentially disruptive command execution, each lowering the risk of operator error.
