Creating Kafka instances
To set up Kafka Instances and Connections, you must create Kafka instances.
Procedure
- Log in to your ServiceNow Instance, and change the scope to the IBM Z® Discovery custom application. Ensure IBM Z Discovery application is selected.
- In the filter field, search for IBM Z Discovery.
- Click zAdministration > Kafka Instances, and then click the New button.
- Enter values for the following fields an Click Submit.
- Kafka Consumer Name
- Specifies the name of the Kafka consumer, for example, consumer1.
- Kafka Consumer Group Name
- Specifies the name of the Kafka Consumer Group, for example,
snow_REPLACE_group1. You can replace REPLACE with CI,
Reference, JCL.
- If you want to create a consumer that needs to be subscribed to topics except relationship and JCL topics, select CI.
- If you want to create a consumer that needs to be subscribed to relationship topic, select Reference.
- If you want to create a consumer that needs to be subscribed to JCL topics, select JCL.
- Kafka Prefix
- Specifies the value according to the server name that you set in the Kafka broker and the topic prefix that needs to be acquired or monitored. For example, IBM®-ZRDDS-SNOW.public.
- Transaction Completed
- You can specify the value as True or False. Set the value to False.
- Kafka Order
- Specifies the order of Kafka, for example, REPLACE Order. You can replace REPLACE Order with 1,2,3.
- Topics Subscribed
- You can choose REPLACE.
- Kafka Connection
- You can select a connection.
