IBM Z Resource Discovery Data Service

IBM Z® Resource Discovery Data Service is a containerized component that creates rapid, graphical analysis to discover the relationships among Z systems resources. It is used for understanding resources that run on Z and provides a standard graph API for resource dependencies. The API can be consumed by various product services that provide visualization of dependencies and relationships, flows between resources, and impacts of changes.

IBM Z Resource Discovery Data Service can be easily embedded in other IBM® products to provide a unified discovery and analysis solution, which brings together a full corpus of understanding around applications and related artifacts in combination with subsystems and infrastructure. The consumers that make use of the graph API of IBM Z Resource Discovery Data Service include IBM Wazi Analyze in the IBM Application Discovery and Delivery Intelligence for IBM Z, IBM Cloud Pak® for Watson AIOps, and IBM Z Anomaly Analytics, IBM Z Monitoring Suite, IBM Z Service Management Suite, IBM Z Service Automation Suite, and IBM zSystems Integration for Observability.

IBM Z Resource Discovery Data Service provides the following functions:
Connect to infrastructure topology
IBM Z Resource Discovery Data Service can create rapid and graphical analysis to discover the relationships among Z resources and tie them into other topologies, such as, the one provided by IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps.
Standard API
The API can be consumed by various product services that provide visualization of dependencies and relationships, flows between resources, and impacts of changes.
Modern infrastructure
You can choose the containerized deployment model for maximum flexibility and portability.
Integrations across portfolios
Feed Z topology data to industry that leads AIOps and IT management platforms, such as, the IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps and ServiceNow.
