Creating users and assigning roles
You must assign user roles to new or existing users.
Procedure
- Log in to your ServiceNow custom application.
- In the filter field, search for user. Click User Administration > Users.
- Assign at least two newly created or existing users to the following roles:
- x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.ibm zsystems discovery admin
- An administrative user who can configure instances, URLs, usernames, and passwords in ServiceNow. The admin user is the only user who can see the menu options to configure IBM Z® Discovery in ServiceNow.
- x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_instances_user
- This role is used to create Kafka instance records.
- x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_parsed_staging_data_user
- This role is used to read the Kafka parsing staging records.
- x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_reference_data_user
- This role is used to read the Kafka reference data.
- x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_topic_cmdb_mapping_user
- This role is used to create the Kafka topic mapping data.
