Restoring service for a degraded workload

IBM Service Management Unite can identify a high workload demand and increase the availability target to restore service for a degraded workload.

The consolidated event viewer displays monitoring and automation exception events, filtered by severity and customized for your area of support. In this scenario, the top unacknowledged event is a warning for a group resource that is owned by the automation domain TESTPLEX INGXSGA0. The user right-clicks on the event and selects View TESTPLEX INGXSGA0 Domain.

The Domain page displays key automation metrics for resources and nodes that are owned by TESTPLEX INGXSGA0. The Resources view displays a warning for application group EAP_SRVGRP/APG/TESTMVS and the offline status for the application EAP_SRVMEM3/APL/TESTMVS.

The user right-clicks on the row that represents the application group in the Resources view and selects Set Availability Target. The user can increase the availability target to the maximum value (3) to request that EAP_SRVMEM3/APL/TESTMVS is brought online.
