Configuring IBM Z System Automation

IBM Z® System Automation provides a configuration assistant tool to configure base System Automation and IBM Z NetView functions.

Table 1 lists the major tasks that are required to configure System Automation:

Allocate system-unique data sets.
Allocate data sets for the ISPF dialog.
Configure SYS1.PARMLIB members.
Update SYS1.PROCLIB members.
Configure the NetView program.

Configure ISPF dialog panels.
Verify the number of available REXX environments.
Optional: Configure the function packages for TSO.  
Optional: Configure alert notification for System Automation.
Define the automation policy.  
Define host-to-host communication.
Define security.
Configure the Status Display Facility (SDF).
Check for required IPL.
Start automatic system operations.
Optional: Configure and Run the System Automation Data Store.  
Enable the End-to-End Automation and Connect an SAplex to Service Management.
