Operating Visualization Service in IBM Service Management Unite
This topic describes how to operate Visualization Service in IBM® Service Management Unite.
Procedure
- After you launch Z Discovery from your IBM Service Management Unite, you can see the Z Discovery Topology page. For example, The topology shows the relationship between the Z system SYSZE4, LPAR and different subsystems. By default, the topology is in graph view. To switch to the table view, you can click the table view icon
on the up right corner.
- You can adjust the minimap on the lower left corner. You can click the
icon to minimize or maximize the minimap. By default, the minimap is minimized. With the minimap, you can see where you are in the topology graph, especially in a large topology graph.
- You can click the zoom in or zoom out icon to zoom in and zoom out the view, and the
reset icon
to reset the zoom to 100% view.
- Every node is an artifact. You can view the details of the artifact.
- If the data comes from OMEGAMON® and the health information is available, you can see the status of the artifact on the artifact. For example, the status of the artifact is Healthy or Error.
- On every artifact, the first line is the type of the artifact, and second line is the name of
the artifact. You can also click the information icon on the upper right corner to see some
information about the artifact.
- Every artifact has relationship with other artifacts that are attached to it. Hover over the
connecting line, and you can see the type of relationship between different artifacts. For
example,
- To view more information about an artifact, you can click the artifact, or click the
icon and View properties.
- You can increase the depth to enrich the topology graph. For example, if you choose an artifact and increase the depth to 2, the topology graph shows more artifacts that are 2 levels up and 2 levels down from the artifact.
- To filter the artifacts that show in the topology, click Filter,
choose the artifacts by artifact type, and click Apply filter, and the
topology graph only shows the artifacts that you choose.
- To view history topology, click History, choose a history record,
and you can see the history topology. You can also click Clear history to
clear the history.
- If you want to export the topology, click Export on the right
corner. In the Export graph view to file window, specify the Export format and File name, click Export, and the file is downloaded.
- Export format
- Specifies the format of the exported file. You can specify the Export
format as JSON or PDF.
- If you specify the format as JSON, you can get a text of the topology in JSON format.
- If you specify the format as PDF, you can get an image of the topology graph in a PDF.
