Configuring IBM Z Software Asset Management

The product installation involves downloading the product and available updates, preparing the database, and configuring and populating a test database. After verifying that all components are correctly installed, you duplicate the test database to create a production database where you automate data collection and import tasks.

The following tasks are required to configure IBM Z® Software Asset Management:
  1. Prepare local environment settings.
  2. Create a test Repository database.
  3. Collect data and import the data into the test Repository database.
  4. Verify the data in the test Repository database.
  5. Create the production Repository database.
  6. Collect data and import the data into the production Repository database.
  7. Arrange for regular maintenance.
