Creating users and assigning roles

You must assign user roles to new or existing users.

Procedure

  1. Log in to your ServiceNow custom application.
  2. In the filter field, search for user. Click User Administration > Users.
  3. Assign at least two newly created or existing users to the following roles:
    x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.ibm zsystems discovery admin
    An administrative user who can configure instances, URLs, usernames, and passwords in ServiceNow. The admin user is the only user who can see the menu options to configure IBM Z® Discovery in ServiceNow.
    x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_instances_user
    This role is used to create Kafka instance records.
    x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_parsed_staging_data_user
    This role is used to read the Kafka parsing staging records.
    x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_reference_data_user
    This role is used to read the Kafka reference data.
    x_ibmg3_ibm_zsyste.kafka_topic_cmdb_mapping_user
    This role is used to create the Kafka topic mapping data.
    You can assign more users as admin to see the application.
