AI Framework for IBM z/OS

The AI Framework for IBM z/OS (z/OS AI Framework) includes a set of underlying AI capabilities designed to support prebuilt AI model life cycles with a focus on model operationalization. The z/OS AI Framework provides built-in functionality to ingest and prepare data needed for training and inferencing in order to deploy and manage AI assets. It also allows you to control and manage the AI capabilities in an intuitive manner without a need for additional AI or data science skills. With this, you can deploy, control, and manage AI use cases that are intended to leverage the z/OS AI Framework, which is geared towards augmenting z/OS with intelligence that enables system self-management. These capabilities are planned to be delivered iteratively and will provide optimization of IT processes, enable intelligent operations, and strengthen the IBM strategic direction of providing intelligent infrastructure.

The AI Base Component for IBM z/OS, a new component of the z/OS BCP element and part of the z/OS AI Framework, enables AI use case providers to use AI models without the need for frequent updates to the latest technologies. This allows traditional components to use z/OS macros to connect to the underlying REST APIs within the z/OS AI Framework.
