F—Show the First Line
The F (show first line) line command redisplays one or more lines at the beginning of a block of excluded lines. See Redisplaying excluded lines for more information about excluding lines.
Syntax
- n
- The number of lines to be redisplayed. If you do not type a number, or if the number you type is 1, only one line is redisplayed.
Description
To redisplay the first line or lines of a block of excluded lines:
- Type
F
in the line command field next to the dashed line that shows where lines have been excluded. The message in the dashed line tells you how many lines are excluded. If you want to redisplay more than one line, type a number greater than 1 after the F command. - Press Enter.
The first line or lines are redisplayed.
Examples
The example in Figure 1 shows how to
redisplay the excluded lines of a member. To redisplay the first
three lines, type F3
in the line command field.
When you press Enter, the editor displays the first three lines, as shown in Figure 2. Excluded lines do not need to be displayed again before saving the data. The excluded lines message line is never saved.
