STORAGEGROUP parameter: initialize a volume that is system-managed
Although STORAGEGROUP is valid only in an MVS™ operating environment, you can issue it with the MVS, CMS, and Stand-Alone versions of ICKDSF.

| Restrictions: | The STORAGEGROUP parameter and the NOINDEX parameter are mutually exclusive. Note:
 Specifying STORAGEGROUP sets bits in the VTOC to indicate the volume can be
SMS-managed. This parameter does not add the volume to an SMS storage group. Follow the procedure in
SMS to ensure that the volume is defined to SMS before using the volume as an SMS-managed
volume. |
