Steps for verifying network access
Determine whether access to a resource is controlled and whether the server or client application can access the resource.

Figure 1 shows the decisions involved for verifying network access.
Procedure
Perform the following steps to verify network access:
- Invoke the DISPLAY TCPIP,,NETSTAT,ACCESS,NETWORK,ipaddress command, specifying the IP address for which access is to be verified. If the command output indicates that network access control is in effect for the IP address, proceed to 2.
- Verify that the server or client application is permitted access to the IP resource. See Diagnosing access control problems for more information about verifying this access.
