Specifying the checkpoint default

Checkpointing can be requested in two ways:

• Job submitters request checkpointing for an output data set in the CKPTSEC parameter of the OUTPUT JCL statement.
• You request checkpointing as the default for each Download for z/OS FSA on a parameter of a JES initialization statement:
  • CKPTSEC and CKPTMODE parameters of the JES2 PRT(nnnn) statement
  • CKPNTSEC parameter of the JES3 DEVICE statement
