Unmount operand
This operand unmounts a mount point that is currently active. The
path name for a z/OS UNIX file object cannot exceed 126 bytes. File
names specified with a prefix must be specified in single quotes with
the prefix (/hfs or /mvs) followed by the z/OS UNIX path name or the
MVS data set name, respectively. For example: F mvsnfs,unmount=‘/HFS/u/jones’. Note that the currently active prefix settings apply
for determining whether a z/OS UNIX file or an MVS data set is specified.
Enter the operand as follows:
Once the mount point is removed, client users are unable to access this mount point, and they get the “Stale NFS File Handle” message. Client users have to enter the umount command to end the stale file handle problem.
