CEESxAT2—Arctangent2
CEESxAT2 calculates a result by using the equation: result =
the angle (in radians) between the positive X axis and a vector defined
by (parm2, parm1)
with a range from:
For example, if parm1 and parm2 are positive, then result = arctan (parm1/parm2).
The following routines are provided for the various data types
supported:
- CEESSAT2
- 32-bit single floating-point number
- CEESDAT2
- 64-bit double floating-point number
- CEESQAT2
- 128-bit extended floating-point number
Syntax >>-CEESxAT2--(--parm1--,--parm2--,--fc--,--result--)-----------><
- parm1 (input)
- The first input to the arctangent2 routine. The input range of parm1 cannot equal 0 if parm2 equals 0.
- parm2 (input)
- The second parameter to the arctangent2 routine. The input range of parm2 cannot equal 0 if parm1 equals 0.
- fc (output)
- A 12-byte feedback code, optional in some languages,
that indicates the result of this service. If you choose to omit this
parameter, refer to Invoking callable services for the
appropriate syntax to indicate that the feedback code was omitted.
The following symbolic conditions can result from this service:
Code Severity Message number Message text CEE000 0 — The service completed successfully. CEE1UU 2 2014 Both parameters were equal to limit in math routine routine-name. CEE1V9 1 2025 An underflow occurred in math routine routine-name. - result (output)
- The result, in radians, of the arctangent2 routine. The output
range is:
