Setting up OSA/SF on z/OS

This applies to the OSA-Express2, OSA-Express3, and OSA-Express4S features. OSA/SF on the HMC must be used for the OSA-Express5S features (see Open Systems Adapter/Support Facility on the Hardware Management Console, SC14-7580, for more information). Before you can configure and manage a non-QDIO OSA (CHPID type OSE), you must set up OSA/SF and a user interface of your choice (OSA/SF REXX command interface or OSA/SF GUI). This chapter provides instructions for setting up OSA/SF on z/OS.

Note: OSA/SF does not support CHPID types OSX and OSM, and it is not needed for OSD.

For information about setting up and using the REXX command interface (IOACMD EXEC) and the GUI for OSA/SF, see Setting up and using the OSA/SF interfaces.

If you are running OSA/SF in a z/VM environment, see Setting Up OSA/SF on z/VM.

If you are running OSA/SF in a z/VSE environment, see Setting Up OSA/SF on z/VSE.
