When creating new MVS data sets, the allocation parameters are the most readily accessible means for the end user to influence the performance of z/OS NFS server. They are also not well known outside of the z/OS user community. This is primarily due to the fact that MVS has a record oriented data structure and most NFS client systems have a byte oriented data structure.
