Defining cataloged procedures to RACF z/OS UNIX System Services Planning GA32-0884-00 |

If a cataloged procedure starts a program that uses z/OS UNIX or its resources, the procedure should be defined to RACF®. An example is the Resource Measurement Facility™ (RMF™) Monitor III Gatherer (RMFGAT). The RMFGAT started task must be associated with a user ID using ICHRINO3 or the STARTED class, and the user ID that you assign to it must be defined to RACF and needs to have a UID. The user ID must also belong to a group that has a GID. You can use the user ID RMFGAT, but it can be any RACF-defined user ID. Example: The following example gives RMFGAT a UID of 123
and designates the root directory as its home directory:
