XX wrong password, cmd = YY ExplanationXX is the login ID passed in from the client and YY is the command that is being attempted. The password that has been passed in is not correct. This message is written to the file that is specified by syslog.conf for error messages. It is only written out if error is set up to write out in syslogd. System actionREXECD ends. Operator responseCorrect the password and try again. System programmer responseIt is considered to be a security violation to tell the client if the user ID or password is incorrect so a generic message saying that one of them is incorrect will be sent to the client.
