Service Classes Extended Metrics for Sysplex workspace
The Service Classes Extended Metrics for Sysplex workspace provides additional WLM service class metrics from the RMF Distributed Data Server (RMF DDS).
Service class periods allow you to age work while it is running in the system. This is useful in cases where it is unpredictable how long work really runs in the system. It is a mechanism to protect your system from long-running work that consumes too many resources because it runs at an importance level that is too high. Service classes should be defined to distinguish all types of work and users from each other; however, the number of service classes should be kept to a minimum to help WLM to work efficiently.
These metrics are represented by two table views:
- Service Classes Extended Data in Periods provides more details about all the service classes in the SYSPLEX and its periods.
- Service Classes by LPAR in Periods allows you to display information about the
distribution and data of all service classes in the SYSPLEX grouped by LPAR and its periods. From
this table view, one link is available specific to that LPAR: Service Classes RMF Metrics.
-
- Service Classes RMF Metrics provides a summary of RMF data of all Service Classes in that LPAR by period.
