Exception analysis

Exception analysis produces a warning message when a parameter goes above or below a specified threshold. To help you decide upon the appropriate response, OMEGAMON provides suggested screens for each exception.

An exception is an unusual condition or situation which may affect availability or performance. OMEGAMON includes default thresholds for each exception. However, since each z/OS® environment is different, you will want to adjust various exception thresholds to suit the needs of your installation.

Two other OMEGAMON features, the Exception Logging Facility (XLF) and the Automatic Screen Facility (ASF), provide automatic handling of exceptions. See Automating and logging features for details of how to use XLF and ASF.
