Installing IBM MFA PAM modules on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux for IBM Z and LinuxONE client
The IBM® MFA PAM modules can run on any instance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux® for IBM Z® and LinuxONE on POWER8® and POWER9™ processor-based servers that meet the minimum requirements.
You must install the IBM MFA PAM modules on every instance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux for IBM Z and LinuxONE on which you want to use IBM MFA for authentication.
Note: A Java™ Virtual Machine (JVM) is required to install the IBM MFA features.
Change directory (cd) to the images-directory/rhel
directory and run the following commands as root to install the IBM MFA PAM modules:
rpm -i mfa-pam-2.2.0.0-time-stamp.rhel8.s390x.rpm
If you re-run the installation for any reason, the existing /etc/security/azf/pam_azf.conf file from the previous installation is not overwritten. The pam_azf.conf from the rpm package is saved as /etc/security/azf/pam_azf.conf.rpmsave.
