Marking the configuration items for deletion

You can use the DetectExpiredDLAItems.sh script to detect CIs that have not been discovered or updated within a specified time frame (for example 30 or 45 days), indicating that the CIs might be removed. You can review these CIs and take the necessary actions. However, this script does not detect the expiration of sysplex and the data sharing groups such as MQ, IMS, and DB2.

Before you begin

  • When deploying and setting up the Discovery Agent, ensure that you have created the dataset and copied the ZAGDEL file to the newly created dataset. For more information, see Deploying and configuring the Discovery Agent.
  • Ensure that you have specified EXPIRED_INTERVAL in the discovery-agent-<version>/config/CONFIG.YML configuration file.

Procedure

  1. Open the ZAGDEL file.
  2. Modify the SCPATH, JAVAHOME, and COMMPARM parameters in the ZAGDEL file.
Note: Ensure that the OTHPARM parameter is empty.
