Note: To address Java and Liberty vulnerabilities, the installer has been upgraded from version 14.0.2 to 14.0.3. However, as the web application remains unchanged, the version numbers displayed in the web UI and log files still show as 14.0.2. If you have downloaded the installer for version 14.0.2, update to version 14.0.3 to ensure that the Java and Liberty vulnerabilities are addressed.

- A fix pack with a new signed installer is available. You can find lists of the fixed APARs on

list for IBM Z Development and Test Environment page.

- IBM® z16™ is now supported. Check Hardware and software requirements for updated
prerequisites.
- The container running a sandbox instance now includes open source zPDT® tools. For more
information about how to use these tools, see this wiki.
- The zPDT driver is updated to version 1.11.57.10. The new emulator includes the following new functions and fixes:
- DEFLATE is active in this release.
- Fixed an obscure convert Unicode instruction problem.
- New ap_acptool command that works with the emulated cryptographic adapter and
will eventually replace the current acptool command, introduced in base GA11
release. See command manpage for more information.
- Token Licensing zip file validation prior to unzipping.
- Updated components are included in Extended ADCD. It is recommended to download and use the
latest edition of the Extended ADCD package. Using an earlier edition might work, although the
performance is not guaranteed. For more information about the added and updated components, see
Extended ADCD for
ZD&T.

- New signed installers are available for all ZD&T
editions. For more information about the installation packages, see the following topics:
- Extended ADCD is updated to z/OS V2R5 May Edition of
2022. For more information, see Configuring Extended
ADCD.
- IBM License Key Server (previously called Rational® License Key Server) is updated to version 9.0. If
you have an earlier version of IBM License Key Server
installed and have emulated z/OS instances that use tokens,
upgrading to V9.0 is required. For installation or upgrading instructions, see the IBM Common Licensing documentation.
- Enterprise Edition only: The zPDT driver is updated to
1.11.57.06. The new emulator includes the following new functions and fixes.
- MSA9 support.
- DEFLATE is included but is off by default. We are investigating a late breaking known issue with
zOSMF. For now you may toggle it on or off with zPDT command
dflt. We expect this to be resolved in a future fix pack.
- Devmap definitions for zEDC adapters are no longer supported and are ignored.
- z16 Architecture support:
- CFCC Prod Rel 25.00 Service Level 02.43
- Crypto Express 8s level, CCA version 8.0.63i , from
previous level CCA version 7.1.23i
- Highlighting Neural Network Processing Assist Facility.
- New command line tool:
acptool. It is used to enable, disable, or query Crypto
CCA ACP’s for zPDT.
- Fix for listVtoc for ckd disks that have a very large number of files.
- Enterprise Edition only: Improved API performance. Documentation with more details will be
available soon.
- Enterprise Edition only: The default password for the default user zdtadmin of the web server
can be set during installation. For more information, see Default authentication and authorization.
- Enterprise Edition only: Removed support for OpenStack.
- Enterprise Edition only: Removed support for FTP communication. To transfer volume image files
from or to the storage server, SFTP is now the only supported transferring method.
