April 2026 updates

Following are the continuous delivery updates and maintenance updates for IBM Z® Observability Connect. You must install and apply these updates.

Telemetry Controller updates

What's added:

What's updated:

  • Base Universal Base Images version.
  • Base image versions to include the latest security patches.

What's fixed:

You must install PTF UJ99508 to apply the following fixes.

  • An issue in metrics processing for IBM MQ SMF record MQS_115_216, where the first character of the queue name was trimmed in the Telemetry Controller.
  • An issue in metrics processing for IMS records, where the LPAR name was missing.

ZAPM Trace Components updates

What's added:

  • Support to optionally enable the CICS® TS Data Producer in CICS-related transaction flows to generate tracing spans for Db2 and VSAM operations For more information, see Configure ZAPM CICS TS Data Producer for Db2 and VSAM operations span. You must install PTF UJ99539 to enable this feature.
  • Support to track HTTP method and request path details for inbound HTTP calls received by CICS.
  • A debug attribute to the OpenTelemetry spans to identify the spans created by ZAPM.
  • High Availability support for Redis in the Distributed Gateway by using a simple configuration toggle.
  • High Availability support to the Distributed Gateway by introducing multi‑broker Kafka support through a simple configuration toggle.
  • Support for prescribed pod sizing and resource allocation recommendations on basis of the expected z/OS transactions per second (TPS). For more information, see Populating deployment files for AppDynamics integration and Populating deployment files for OpenTelemetry integration.

  • Redis version.
  • Base image versions include the upgraded security patches.
