Access Authority for Automation Work Operators

DB2 commands are issued by the SA z/OS automation work operator (AUTWRKnn) that the DB2 subsystem has been assigned to.

Because these operators are assigned automatically during ACF load each of the AUTWRKnn operators that are defined to automation should be granted SYSOPR authority to DB2.

When using OPERSEC=SAFCHECK, or SAFDEF (user level security), the following list of operator IDs should also be granted SYSOPR authority to DB2:
  • GSSOPER
  • RPCOPER
  • AUTINIT1
  • SYSOPER (backup task for GSSOPER)
  • BASEOPER (backup task for SYSOPER and GSSOPER)
