Preparing Message Automation

The interaction with target systems is based on the SA z/OS processor operations component. Therefore the installation and customization of this component must be complete at this point.

Operating System messages from processor operations target systems receiving at the focal point are transferred to ISQ900I messages.

ISQ901I is not relevant. It is used to inform interested operators about target system messages. It is not used for automation purposes.

MSCOPE() parameter in CONSOLxx member: MSCOPE allows you to specify those systems in the sysplex from which this console is to receive messages not explicitly routed to this console. An asterisk (*) indicates the system on which this CONSOLE statement is defined. Because the default is *ALL, indicating that unsolicited messages from all systems in the sysplex are to be received by this console, this parameter must be set to '*' for correct automation by SA z/OS processor operations.
